Jackie Privacy Policy
Jackie is a local delivery platform for Jamaica. Customers and businesses can book a rider to send packages, collect items, move customer orders, and share delivery progress with recipients. Riders use Jackie to receive delivery requests, manage handoffs, and keep records of their delivery activity.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Jackie website, Jackie mobile apps, customer and rider accounts, live tracking pages, recipient tracking links, support conversations, and related delivery services.
Jackie collects the information needed to book deliveries, verify riders, track trips, support customers and businesses, protect accounts, improve service quality, and comply with legal obligations.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Jackie, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password authentication details, account type, and profile settings.
- Delivery information: pickup and drop-off addresses, service type, package notes, recipient details, delivery status, timestamps, handoff records, trip history, and support notes.
- Recipient information: recipient name, phone number, address, delivery instructions, and tracking link activity when a sender adds a recipient to a Jackie delivery.
- Rider information: rider profile, contact details, location during active delivery work, identity or onboarding documents, vehicle or transport details, earnings records, and service activity.
- Business information: business name, contact person, customer order details, product or delivery notes, marketplace or listing information, and delivery preferences.
- Device and usage information: browser or app version, device identifiers, IP address, pages viewed, app events, crash logs, diagnostics, and security logs.
- Communications: messages, emails, calls, WhatsApp or support conversations, feedback, and account deletion reasons.
How Jackie uses information
Jackie uses information to:
- Create, secure, and maintain customer, rider, recipient, and business accounts.
- Calculate delivery details, match deliveries with riders, and coordinate pickups and drop-offs.
- Provide live tracking, status updates, recipient tracking links, and delivery records.
- Verify riders, review onboarding information, prevent fraud, and protect users.
- Provide customer support, investigate delivery issues, and respond to account requests.
- Operate rider earnings records and support the Jackie model where riders keep every dollar they earn on Jackie.
- Improve Jackie products, pricing, app reliability, routing, service areas, and safety features.
- Comply with applicable law, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution obligations.
How information is shared
Jackie shares information only when needed to operate the delivery service, support the platform, or meet legal obligations. Examples include:
- Sharing pickup, drop-off, contact, delivery notes, and tracking details between customers, businesses, recipients, and assigned riders.
- Using service providers for hosting, authentication, databases, maps, notifications, analytics, storage, messaging, and support tools.
- Sharing information when required by law, to protect Jackie users, to investigate abuse, or to respond to valid legal requests.
- Sharing business transfer information if Jackie is involved in a merger, financing, restructuring, sale, or similar transaction.
Jackie does not sell personal information. Jackie also does not sell recipient contact details or rider location data.
Live tracking and location
Live tracking is core to Jackie. When a rider is handling an active delivery, Jackie may collect and show location updates so customers, businesses, and recipients can follow the delivery from pickup to drop-off. Rider location is used to coordinate the active delivery, improve safety, estimate arrival, troubleshoot delivery issues, and maintain accurate records.
Recipients may see a limited delivery view through a tracking link. That view is intended to show relevant delivery progress, not full account details.
Cash-only delivery right now
Jackie currently supports cash-only delivery. Cash keeps delivery simple right now and helps more people use the service while Jackie grows. Even with cash delivery, Jackie may keep records such as quoted cost, delivery status, route details, rider earnings, customer notes, and support history.
How long information is kept
Jackie keeps information for as long as needed to provide delivery services, support users, maintain safety and fraud controls, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and keep operational records. Some information may be retained longer when required for tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.
Security
Jackie uses technical, organizational, and access-control measures designed to protect personal information. No system can be guaranteed to be perfect, but Jackie works to limit access, monitor misuse, protect account sessions, and keep sensitive service credentials on secure backend systems rather than public pages.
Your choices and requests
You can contact Jackie to ask for help with your information. Depending on your account and applicable law, you may be able to:
- Access, correct, or update account information.
- Ask questions about delivery, recipient, rider, or business records.
- Opt out of some non-essential communications.
- Delete your Jackie account through the app or the web account deletion page.
Account deletion is permanent after confirmation. Jackie may keep limited records when required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, safety, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Children
Jackie is not intended for children. Users should be old enough to create and manage an account, request deliveries, or work as a rider under applicable rules.
Changes to this policy
Jackie may update this Privacy Policy as the business, app, website, service areas, payment options, rider tools, or legal requirements change. When updates are made, Jackie will revise the date above and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
